Step by Step how to create “USB Windows Installer”
This is step by step on how to make your USB Thumbs Drive as a Windows Installer.
Requirement (What you need??)
— 4GB Thumb Drive (USB 3.0 recommended)
— Microsoft Windows Installer in ISO format (for this step / demo, i’m using Windows 8 Enterprise)
— Power Iso software (this is to mount your Windows Installer (.iso) ** if you’re using Windows 8/Server 2012 as a Host, you don’t need Power iso coz Windows 8 & Server 2012 already come with “mount” function.
— a little bit skills of “command prompt”
so, once you have all the devices with you… now lets get started…
1 – Mount your Windows Installer by right clicking the installer, choose PowerIso & click Mount Image to Drive.. (refer pic below)
2 – Next, plug in your 4GB thumbs drive & go to Computer to check if the Installer functioning…
3 – Open Command Prompt (CMD)
4 – Next Step.. once your CMD open.. please type this command in your CMD (press enter after each command) – (refer to pic below)
select disk 1 (assuming disk 1 was your thumb drive in the above list disk command)
create partition primary
select partition 1
format fs=fat32 quick
** Please be aware that this command will format your thumbs drive, so please get new thumbs drive @ backup your data from old thumbs drive before proceed with this process….
5 – Next step, we have not finish yet with this command prompt.. your last step is to copy Windows Installer into your newly formatted thumbs drive.. this process will take around 5 – 10 minutes depends on your thumbs drive speed…
type this : xcopy d:\*.* /s/e/f e:\
** please be aware also that 1st alphabet d:\ is refer to your windows installer drive letter & the e:\ is refer to your thumbs drive
6 – once process completed copy all your windows installer into your thumbs drive, you’ll see XXXX File(s) copied.
7 – Next step.. open your Computer to check the newly created USB Installer.. its suppose to be working now..
8 – to confirm, just double click on the “Removable Disk (F:).. your installer will pop up.. for this exercise i’m using Windows 8..
9 – now you can unplug your Newly Created Windows Installer & start to install windows to any PC, Laptop @ Windows Tablet (don’t forget to change boot sequence to USB in BIOS guyzzz… )..
